BSCCL declares 10 pc dividend

The 7th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited (BSCCL) was held recently at Sayeman Beach Resort, Cox’sBazar, says a press release.
The proposed 10 per cent stock dividend for the year ended on 30 June 2015 unanimously applauded by the shareholders in the AGM.
The Meeting was presided over by Md. Faizur Rahman Chowdhury, Secretary, Post and Telecommunications Division as well as Chairman of the Company.
Directors of the company Jalal Ahmed, Shawkat Mostafa, Rabindranath Roy Chowdhury, Col. Md. Arefin Talukder, Dr. Md. Mahbubul Alam Joarder, Nasir Uddin Ahmed, Independent Director Md. Monwar Hossain and Managing Director, Md. Abdus Salam Khan were also present in the meeting.
Good numbers of shareholders were also present in the meeting. The Shareholders appreciated and thanked the Board of Directors and Management team for their commitment and immense contribution to the success and growth of the Company.
Currently the company has 200 Gbps bandwidth in its possession from SMW-4 consortium. Recently BSCCL has signed a contract with SMW-5 consortium to establish the 2nd Submarine Cable of the country, which is expected to be operational by 2016.
 The company will get additional 1300 Gbps Bandwidth after commissioning of 2nd Submarine Cable Project. Recently BSCCL has started its IIG business and obtained ISP license. It is expected that BSCCL will start Leasing IP Bandwidth to India very soon.  
The Company earned a net profit after tax of Tk. 12.90 crore during the last financial year 2014-2015. The shareholders fund stood at Tk. 403.36 crore as of 30 June 2015.
