Department of Women and Gender Studies of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) has become champion in Begum Rokeya Pramila Football Tournament-2017 held on the Ground 1 of the University on Sunday. In the final match of the tournament, they defeated Bangla Department by 3-2 in tiebreaker.
After finishing the final match of the tournament GOC of 66, Infantry Division and Rangpur Area Commander Major General Md. Masud Razzak, NDC, AFWC, PSC, handed over the champion trophy to the winning team as chief guest.
Vice Chancellor of BRUR Prof Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, BTFO presided over the program. Executive Director of Jatiya Nirbachan Parjobekkhon Parishad-JANIPOP Advocate Itrat Amin Kalimullah was special guest in the program.
Major General Md Masud Razzaq said, ‘Begum Rokeya was the Iron Lady of this region who spread the light. I think the ladies of this university will spread the light in our society.’
BRUR Vice Chancellor Dr Kalimullah thanked all concerned for arrangements of such tournament. The tournament held under the overall supervision of Administrator of Public Relations, Information and Publications Division and Professor of Bangla Department Dr Sarifa Salowa Dina. Asif Al Matin, Head of the Department of English conducted the concluding and award giving ceremony. Deans of different faculties, teachers of different departments and officials of BRUR were present on the occasion.
