Begum Rokeya University (BRU), Rangpur observed 76th birth anniversary of Dr. M. A. Wazed Miah with due respect. Vice-Chancellor of the university Prof Dr. Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah. BTFO handed over the honor to MA Wazed Miah’s grave at Fatehpur, Pirganj on behalf of the university administration on Friday.
After that the teachers’ association of Begum Rokeya University, Progressive Teacher Society, Bangabandhu Parishad, Officers’ Association, Employees’ Union and others were separately paid tribute to Dr Wazed and a Dua Mahfil was held.
On this occasion, Dr Wazed Research Institute of the University organized a seminar at the virtual class room of the University’s Academic Building-2. BRU VC inaugurated the seminar.
Prof Dr Shuchita Sharmin, Department of Development Studies of Dhaka University was the chief speaker at the seminar on ‘Life and Work of MA Wazed Mia’.
Mehjabin Elahi, Research Officer of the Institute was the presenter of the seminar. Prof Dr Sarifa Salowa Dina of BRU Bangla Dept and Administrator of Public Relations and Information Division also spoke at the seminar.
The speakers highlighted the country’s leading nuclear scientist Dr MA Wazed Mia’s life and ideals in different ways. Teachers, employees and students of different departments of the university took part in this seminar.
