Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of Begum Rokeya University (BRU), Rangpur signed a one-year agreement with Pollisree, Dinajpur on Thursday for research and development of women empowerment in Dimla, Nilphamari.
Chairman of the MCJ Dept Prof Dr Nazrul Islam and Pollisree Executive Director Shamim Ara Begum signed the agreement in favour of their respective organizations.
Noted that, Vice Chancellor of BRU Prof Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, BTFO and Md. Selim Reja, in charge of the Executive Director of Pollisree signed the main agreement between BRU and Pollisree for 5 year on August 3, 2017.
Pollisree Executive Director Shamim ara Begum said, “Pollisree is a local NGO. It works with social issues in seven district of North Bengal.”
Prof Dr Nazrul Islam said, “BRU and Pollisree signed the agreement and it will be implemented as soon as possible. He thanked the Pollisree. Ferdous Rahman, the Dean of Business Faculty congratulated Pollisree for the agreement.
Besides, Dr Abul kalam Md. Foridul Islam, Proctor of BRU, Prof Dr Sarifa Salowa Dina Administrator, Public Relation, Information and Public Division, BRU, Tabiur Rahman Prodhan, Assistant Professor of MCJ Dept, among others, were present in the signing ceremony.
Human-chain to protest Rohingya torture
Meanwhile, students of Mass Communication and Journalism Department of Begum Rokeya University (BRU), Rangpur early on Tuesday formed a human-chain for protesting atrocities on Muslim Rohingya in Mayanmer.” Save Rohingya, stop genocide” was the slogan of the human-chain.
Chairman of the Dept, Prof Dr Nazrul Islam, the members of different social, political, and cultural organizations and students of the Departments were present there.
Dr Nazrul Islam said, ” Rohingya crisis has resounded the whole world. We want the genocide be stopped and solved it permanently.”
He also said, we should ensure all caste and religion to build democracy for a state. He urged the Mayanmer to take necessary steps regarding Rohingya and to give them citizenship.
The students of the Dept, Monowar Hossain, Shihab Uddin, Suzan, Morshedul Alam and other speaks on the occasion to establish stable peace in Mayanmer.
