A bus of Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation was damaged on Tuesday at Rupatali area of the city by agitated drivers of rental motorcycles over getting serial on boarding ferry.
Rapid Action Battalion detained two motorcycle drivers in this connection from the spot and two staffs of the bus were injured by the attackers. Zamil Hossain, manager BRTC Barisal depot, said staffs of BRTC bus (Dhaka-Metro-Ba-11-00-24) and drivers of rental motorcycle services engaged in altercation over serial of boarding on ferry at Lebukhali on Barisal-Patuakhali route at about 11:00 am Tuesday.
Then the agitated motorcycle drivers assembled in front of Lily Petrol Pump at Rupatali area of the city and attacked the BRTC bus when it reached there at about 11:40 am.
The attackers also injured bus driver Ainul Islam and helper Mozammel Hossain by merciless beating while they tried to resist the attackers, the BRTC official told.
