Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) will continue vigilant activities in city’s bus terminals to make smooth journey for home-goers during the coming Eid-ul-Fitr.
Three committees of BRTA will remain vigilant in three key bus terminals of Dhaka from May 30 to June 4 for a hassle-free journey.
Three Additional Deputy Commissioners will lead the teams at Gabtoli, Mohakhali and Sayedabad bus terminals in the capital, BRTA Chairman Mashiur Rahman said at a meeting on Thursday afternoon.
Works of these three teams will be monitored by a monitoring team which will be led by an Additional Deputy Commissioner, he said.
The BRTA Chairman said, the committee members will remain alert to prevent plying of non-fit and overloading buses to ensure safe journey for the home-goers during the Eid.
“Committees will try to ensure the bus owners to maintain the bus schedules that will reduce the holidaymakers sufferings,” he said.
