A Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) mobile court in Chattogram on Tuesday fined owners of six bus services Tk 93,000 in two separate drives.
Executive Magistrate NM Manjurul Haque conducted the drives in Notun Bridge and Maijjartek areas.
They fined owners of five buses plying Patiya-Satkania-Lohagara route Tk 73,000 for charging exorbitant fares and returned excess money charged to passengers.
It also fined owner of a Shyamoli Paribahan bus Tk 20,000 as the supervisor beat up a passenger for protesting unjust fares.
