The unidentified assailants brutally killed the wife of the Deputy Director of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) Sitangsu Shekhar Biswas after hacking and burning her at their Mohammadpur residence in the city on Monday night. The deceased was Krisno Kaberi, 35, a lecturer of Mission International College. Mr Shekhar Biswas and their two daughters Shruti Biswas, 14, and Arothi Biswas, 9, were also injured by the attack. According to the victim`s aunt Chandrika and uncle Pintu, The assailants launched attack at Shekhar Biswas`s residence where he lived with wife and two daughters around 10:30pm. They hacked Kaberi with sharp weapons and set fire on her body. After rescuing, the critically injured Kaberi was admitted to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries around 2:30am, they added. Mr Shekhar Biswas and their two daughters were admitted to the Mokhali Metropolitan Hospital with serious injuries and now undergoing treatment there. Mr Shekhar Biswas was hailed from Ramkrishnapur under Dumuria upazila of Khulna district. Now he is living at House 3/2 of Mohammadpur Ikbal road with family. Confirming the incident, Rashedul Islam, a Sub-Inspector of Mohammadpur Police Station, said the attack may be happened for previous enmity.– risingbd.com
