Brothers Union Club Limited and Soccer Club, Feni will meet each other today in the first semifinal of the Modhumoti Bank Independence Cup Football Tournament at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. The match kicks-off at 5.00 pm.
Dhaka Abahani Limited and Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited will face each other tomorrow in the second semifinal of the same meet at the same venue.
The match begins at 5.00 pm.
Bangladesh Television will telecast the matches live from the stadium.
Regarding the two semifinals, Coaches and Captains of the four teams talked to the journalists at their respective press conferences at the conference room of Bangladesh Football Federation House on Monday.
Senior Vice-President of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Abdus Salam Murshedy and Vice-President of Modhumoti Bank Limited Miss Fahmida Saki and General Secretary of BFF Md Abu Nayeem Shohag were also present.
Coach of Brothers Union Syed Naeemuddin said, “Our opponent is a strong side. But I think our outfit is stronger than our rival. Hoping that my boys will give full concentration in today’s match and they will be alert in the match to resist our opponent. We don’t take our opponent lightly. We don’t underestimate them.”
Captain of Brothers Union Ashraful said, “Soccer Club Feni’s Gambian recruits are good. But I am confident that we can tackle them. The offence players of the team have chances to take rest for some time but the players of defence always busy in ninety-minute match.”
Coach of Soccer Club Feni Omar K Sise said, “It is not an easy task to defeat our opponent. But I am confident we can overcome our counterpart. I hope that we can have a good ending in the today’s match.”
Captain of Soccer Club Feni Ridon said, “I think our attacking side is better than any other team. We scored six goals before today’s match.”
Coach of Dhaka Abahani Limited Ali Akbar Parmoslemi said, “Abahai- Mohammedan match is a big match in Bangladesh. We are ready to play against Mohammedan.”
Captain of Dhaka Abahani Limited Sujan said, “I think it will be a good match. If Abahai-Mohammedan match will be a final it will be better than that of this match. I hope we shall play in the final after beating Mohammedan in the final. We have no injury problem.”
Coach of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited Rui Capello said, ” It will be a good match. Every team has fifty-fifty chance.’
Captain of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited Emily said, ” Abahani is a good team. If we can give cent percent effort, we have chance to win the match.”
