Brothers Union Club moved to the 3rd slot of the Nitol-Tata Bangladesh Premier Football League points table beating Feni Soccer Club by 2-1 goals in the 2nd leg match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Wednesday.
With the day’s feat, the Gopibagh outfit, Brothers Union, secured 25 points from 15 matches to advance to the 3rd slot in the league table for the first time pushing back Mohammedan SC (23 points) while Soccer remained in their 9th position with their previous credit of 9 points from 14 matches.
The first leg match between Brothers Union and Feni Soccer Club was locked in 1-1 draw.
In the day’s match, Haitian forward Augustine Walson put Brothers Union ahead in the 16th minute by his solo effort. After intercepting a ball from opponent defender, Walson rushed to the box and beat Soccer goalie Nehal by an angular shot (1-0).
Brothers Union doubled the margin in the 40th minute through their Nigerian forward Kester Akon, who fired the net by a fierce shot (2-0).
Soccer Club pulled the margin one back in the 61st minute as their midfielder Ali Hasan placed a ball into the middle of the net, off a square pass from Nigerian forward Chuka Charles from the right flank (2-1).
Feni Soccer goalkeeper Nehal got marching order by referee Tayeb Hasan in the 89th minute for holding a ball out side of the box.
