Brothers Union Club completed their Manyavar Bangladesh Premier Football League first phase with a winning note as they blanked Chittagong Abahani by 2-0 goals held on Thursday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city.
In the day’s match, Haitian forward Augustine Walson scored both the goals for the winning side.
After the barren first half, Augustine Walson finally broke the deadlock scoring the first goal for Brothers in the 69th minute he curved a free kick from the left wing (1-0).
Walson sealed the victory scoring the second goal for all orange Gopibagh ‘outfit’ in the 83rd minute from another free kick from almost the same spot. His curling free kick stunned Abahani goalie Shohag Hossain under the bar.
This win took Brothers Union to 20 points from 10 matches while Abahani have five from the same number of matches.
