Brothers Union edged out Uttar Baridhara by 2-1 goals in the 20th round match of the JB Bangladesh Premier League at Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday.
After playing a goalless first half, Mannaf Rabbi broke the dead lock in the 61st minute for Brothers by a tricky header from the left post side off a free kick of Kawsar Ali Rabbi, 1-0.
Brothers joy lasted just six minutes as they conceded an own goal in the 67th minute. Cameroonian defender Yonta Michael tried to clear a free kick of Khalekuzzaman Sobuj by a header that landed into his own net, 1-1.
Augustine Walson scored the winner for Brothers just before the three minutes of the stipulated time, by a side-footed shot utilising a cut back off Mannaf Rabbi from the right flank, 2-1.
With this victory, Brothers advanced to 4th slot from 6th in the points table of the 12-team league, collecting 27 points from 20 games, having six wins, nine draws and five loses.
Baridhara remained in their previous penultimate position collecting 17 points also from 20 outings, having five wins two draws and 13 loses.
