British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Robert W Gibson urged the Sate Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder MP to ensure Bangladesh’s participation in the upcoming 20th Commonwealth Games and 7th Commonwealth Sports Ministers meeting will be held in Scotland.
He made a request during a courtesy meeting with the State Minister’s secretariat office on Wednesday.
The High Commission informed the State Minister that seventy one commonwealth listed countries across the World will compete in the Commonwealth Games.
The State Minister elaborately held up to the British High Commission about the government’s various activities taken for the development of sports as well as participation and preparation of Bangladesh in the Commonwealth Games.
The High Commission also praised Bangladesh for successfully hosting the recently concluded World Cup T20 and assured of Bangladesh’s participation in para Olympic Games.
Youth and Sports secretary Noor Mohammad and Bangladesh Olympic Association secretary general Syed Shahed Reza were present on the occasion.
