Visiting British Prime Minister’s Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Owen Jenkins met BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Tuesday night.
Owen Jenkins, also the Director for South Asia and Afghanistan at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), along with British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Alison Blake went to Khaleda’s Gulshan office around 7pm and held an hour-long meeting with the BNP chief.

Rahman and BNP special secretary Asaduzzaman Ripon were present at the meeting.
However, there was no briefing from either side about the meeting.
Party sources said issues relating to mutual interests of the two countries, Bangladesh’s latest political and human rights situations and next general election came up for discussion at the meeting.
