British-born physician Dr David Nabarro, who is going to vie for the post of the next Director General (DG) of World Health
Organisation (WHO), has visited Bangladesh recently.
During his visit to Bangladesh, Dr Nabarro met Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim and State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Zahid Maleque. The physician has spent over 40 years in international public health as a medical doctor, educator, international public servant and diplomat.
He has also worked on the frontline in over 50 countries, including Bangladesh, and worked on issues, including Ebola, bird flu, cholera and nutrition. Dr Nabarro worked in Bangladesh (Dhaka, Khulna and Mymensingh) in the early 1980s for Save the Children.
