housands of kids around the globe suffer from autism. These innocent children are widely misunderstood by the majority of people in their surroundings, sometimes even by their parents during the initial stages.
Unlike common people, they view the world from an entirely different angle and their viewpoints might be worlds apart sometimes, but that does not mean that they are a defected or a subject to be bullied.
They possess a high level of fluid intelligence, which refers to their ability to distinctively understand and solve new problems. We should understand these gifted personalities and help them nurture their unique brain functions, because frankly, since the beginning of the human race, it has never been the people with conventional perception who contributed to major revolution and inventions which led to phenomenal advancements in our world as we know it today.
The painting exhibition entitled A way to break beyond by Salma Zakia Bristy is going on at La Galerie of Alliance Française de Dhaka (AFD) in the capital’s Dhanmondi area.
The artwork A way to break beyond is based on the children diagnosed with autism, as well as on the hope and the optimism of their parents.
Nilu Rawshon Murshed, Chairperson, Abinta Gallery of Fine Arts and eminent artist Kanak Chapa Chakma attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition as the special guests.
Salma Zakia Bristy was born at Cumilla. She finished her BFA (Hons) from the Department Print Making, Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka. She got the ‘Grand Award’ in 18th Asian Art Biennale 2018, Bangladesh.
The exhibition will continue till April 2. n
