Leaders of Awami League (AL) and its associate bodies at a discussion in Rangpur on Saturday night demanded for bringing back all absconding killers of Bangabandhu to execute the court’s verdict to free the nation from the stigma.
They came up with the demand at the discussion organised by Rangpur district unit of Awami Swechchasebak League (ASL) at its office on National Mourning Day-2018 and 43rd martyrdom anniversary of the Architect of Independence and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Acting President of district AL Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed attended the discussion as the chief guest with President of district ASL Sirajul Islam Pramanik in the chair.
Moderated by Joint General Secretary of district ASL Saiful Islam Sweet, General Secretary of district AL Advocate Rezaul Karim Raju addressed the event as Keynote Speaker.
Joint General Secretary of district AL Shahinur Rahman Sohel, its Organising Secretary Motahar Hossain Mandal Mowla, General Secretary of district ASL Ramjan Ali Tuhin, district Chhatra League President Mehedee Hasan Rony, among others, addressed.
The speakers said the assassination of Bangabandhu and most of his family members on August 15, 1975 was a part of the deep-rooted conspiracies aimed at making the nation leaderless for destroying independence and spirit of the War of Liberation.
Advocate Raju focused on the life, works and contribution of Bangabandhu, and urged all to work unitedly in spirit of the War of Liberation to pay due respect to Bangabandhu through building an exploitation-free developed ‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by him.
Sirajul Islam Pramanik robustly condemned assassination of Bangabandhu on the black day of August 15 and urged the government for bringing back all absconding killers of Bangabandhu to the country immediately for implementation of their execution.
The chief guest called upon leaders and activists of ASL, AL and its associate bodies for remaining united to maintain the current pace of development foiling conspiracies being hatched by the defeated anti-liberation forces since killing of Bangabandhu.
Later, special munajats were offered seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of Bangabandhu and continuous peace and progress of the country and welfare of the people.
