A three-month long group art exhibition titled ‘Brihatta Home Art Project 2020’ is being held at the Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts in the capital’s Dhanmondi area now.
The exhibition is jointly organised by Brihatta Art Foundation and Bengal Arts Programme. Tanzim Wahab, Chief Curator of Bengal Arts Programme, is the curator of the exhibition.
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni inaugurated the exhibition as the chief guest, while distinguished artist Rafiqun Nabi and Chairman of Crystal Insurance Ltd Abdullah Al Mahmud, were also present as special guests on the occasion.
Bishwajit Goswami, Artistic Director of the project, spoke at the event, presided over by Luva Nahid Choudhury, Director General of Bengal Foundation.
‘Brihatta Home Art Project’ was started last year by Bishwajit Goswami, with a number of like-minded artists. They hoped to overcome the obstacles caused by the Covid-19 crisis and regain vitality in new ventures.
On the project, a group of artists were encouraged to create new works of art, in light of their experiences. Under the mentorship of artists Dhali Al Mamun, Bishwajit Goswami and Mahbubur Rahman, the exploratory perspectives of 14 emerging artists are presented in various mediums at the exhibition, which concludes on June 12. This event, featuring talented artists, carries special significance, in celebration of Mujib birth centenary and 50 years of independence of Bangladesh.
