The people of several villages including Sadua and Panchahar under Tangab and Niguari Union of Mymensingh’s Gafargaon Upazila, have been suffering for centuries from want of a bridge over the Tedaira beel on the Gafargaon-Burmese road. Thousands of people of these areas are now using a bamboo bridge built on the Tedaira beel to cross the road.
The people of Sadua and Panchahar areas said that the representatives of the area promised to build a bridge as soon as the election came. After the election, the promise is no longer remembered.
Hundreds of students from schools, colleges and madrasas came and went on the bamboo bridge. Pedestrians often get in accidents while crossing the road. Children suffer the most. Every day, people from many villages of Panchahar, Chhapilam, Barihati and Niguari Union of Pagla Police Station are moving on this road at risk. There is a weekly market. During these two days, the farmers brought vegetables from far and wide and suffered to cross the bridge. Extra money is to be counted with. There are schools, colleges and madrasas including Tangab Poolerghat Bazar on that bank of Sankoti. Students have to go to the other side of the river at risk.
