Bridegroom stabbed by bride at nuptial night! Bride flees

A bridegroom was allegedly stab-injured by his newly married bride at the nuptial night at his home at Lawtoli village in Gupti West Union under Faridganj Upazila early Tuesday.
The injured bridegroom was Delwar Hussain,27, son of late Harun or Rashid and the accused newly married wife Shamoli Akter,20, daughter of Feroze Alam of Bhuiyan Bari in the neighbouring village Char Mandari under the same Union of the same Upazila.
It was presumed that due to an affair, the bride might have done it.
Their marriage ceremony was solemnised socially on 25 February amid much enthusiasm.
At the nuptial night, in their decorated-bed room, the bridegroom Delwar shouted suddenly for help at 2 am. Hearing it, the close relatives at once went into the room and saw the blood oozing out of his body. The stage of the couple at the Bou-vaat function was also seen vandalized. At once, seriously injured Delwar Hussain was rushed to a hospital at Cumilla town. Meanwhile, the newly married Shamoli has disappeared. On getting this information, Police was sent to the spot by Faridganj Thana OC Harunor Rashid Chowdhury. Police, however, could not find the newly married wife nor any of her parents nor any close relatives.
Contacted, the UP member of the Union Masud Alam has confirmed the report adding that an interested group is trying to hush up the matter.
Delwar’s sister Runa Begum has accused the newly married wife for this unexpected and abnormal situation.
