UNB, Dhaka :Controller of the Office of the Chief Controller of Imports and Exports (CCIE) M Shahidul Haque, who was captured in a video while taking bribe from service seekers, has been withdrawn from his office.Commerce Secretary Hedayet Ullah Al Mamoon on Sunday confirmed UNB about Haque’s withdrawal from the office.He said, since an investigation is going on against Haque, he is no more in the CCIE and attached with the Commerce Ministry. An official order has also been issued in this regard, he added.Earlier, a leading Bengali daily published an investigative report on his corrupt practices describing how much serious he was in realizing bribes in cash. Haque was a controller of Dhaka in the CCIE.The functions of the office of the Chief Controller of Imports and Exports are governed by the Imports and Exports (Control) Act 1950; the Importers, Exporters Indentors (Registration) Order, 1981, and Review, Appeal and Revision Order 1977.
