BREB’s subscribers now over 1.45 cr

Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) has said that they would try their best to ensure the electricity facilities for 90 per cent people of the country by 2018.
“From this commitment, some 3,03,216 families came under the new electricity connections in February only. The BREB has so far brought 1,45,10,316 families across the country under the electricity connections,” says a press release of the BREB.
In the press release issued on Tuesday signed by BREB’s Director (Public Relations) Md Omar Faruk Bhuiyan, it had been said that the BREB’s activities would be strengthened day by day under the leadership of its Chairman Major General Moin Uddin.
Major General Moin Uddin thanked the 78 Palli Biddyut Samity officials across the country for their efforts. He said that with the cooperation of all concerned, the BREB will steadily continue in bringing phenomenal changes in rural lives.
The BREB has a target of bringing 30 lakh new clients under the electricity facility in 2015-16 fiscal.
