A six-member high-level delegation team led by Brazilian Ambassador to Bangladesh Mr. Joao Tabajara de Oliveira Junior has visited the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) today (Sunday, February 27, 2022). During the visit, discussions were held with the delegates on various bilateral issues including agricultural research activities of the two countries.
The members of the delegation include President of the Brazilian Caixa Economica Federal-CEF (Brazilian Federal Savings Bank) Mr. Pedro Duarte Guimaraes, Vice President of Finance Mr. Rafael de Oliveira Morais, Vice President of Risks Mr. Messias dos Santos Esteves, Legal Director Mr. Gryecos Attom Valente Laurero and Executive Director of Retail Product Mr. Eduardo Folk Antonio.
Senior Scientists of BARI welcomed the delegation at the time of their arrival in the institute. BARI Director General Dr. Debaish Sarker gave a welcome address at his conference room. Chief Scientific Officer & Head of Agronomy Division Dr. Dilwar Ahmed Choudhury gave brief PowerPoint presentation on the activities and achievements of BARI. Director (Support & Services) Dr. Md. Kamrul Hasan, Director (Horticulture) Dr. Apuba Kanti Choudhury, Director (Training and Communication Wing) Dr. Md. Saiful Islam, Director (Planning and Evaluation Wing) Dr. Mossammat Samsunnahar, Director (Tuber Crops Research Center) Dr. Sohela Akhter, heads of the divisions, senior scientists, officers, among others, were present on the occasion.
Later, the delegation visited Toxicology & IPM Lab, research field of Horticulture Research Center and expressed their satisfaction by seeing the activities, advancement and achievements of BARI.
