In the quarterfinals held yesterday in Tokyo, Brazil struggled to beat African representative Egypt by a solitary goal, Spain outclassed Ivory Coast 5-2, Mexico shattered South Korea 6-3 and Japan beat New Zealand 4-2 in tie-breaker. The regulation period ended in a draw.
