Talking to BSS, Kabir Bin Anwar, Project director of a2i Programme, said traditional Braille contents are being converted into digital system so the visually impaired students avail the bliss of technology.
“We will convert the contents of 60 academic books into digitised system and so far, we’ve completed 10 books,” he added. Kabir, also the Director General of the Prime Minister’s Office, informed the developing process of software and books is expected to be completed by next June.
“The government is determined to hand over the digital contents to the visually impaired students in the January 1 next year with the book distribution for regular students,” he added.
Officials said the digital contents have already been sent to two schools to examine their effectiveness. The a2i team will also meet the teachers and experts to demonstrate the Braille and talking software. After getting feedback form them, the software and contents will be finalised, they added.
