Brahmanbaria’s Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) of the Special Branch (SB) Alauddin Chowdhury has been transferred.
He has been attached as per an order from the police headquarters on Tuesday
Brahmanbaria Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Crime) Md Roish Uddin confirmed the matter to the media.
The transfer came a month after Hefajat-e-Islam activists carried out violence in Brahmanbaria on March 26 centring
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bangladesh. But, ASP Roish Uddin said Chowdhury’s transfer was not involved with the mayhem carried out by Hefazat-e-Islam, rather it was a regular transfer.
Earlier on Monday, Brahmanbaria Sadar Police Station Officer-in-charge Abdur Rahim was transferred to the Rangpur Range.
