BRAC University (BRACU) organised “Freshman Orientation – Summer 2017” at Golf Garden (adjoining Army Golf Club) in the capital on Monday.
BRACU Vice Chancellor Prof Syed Saad Andaleeb, PhD presented the inaugural speech, congratulating students for qualifying for admission for the Summer-2017 undergraduate session at BRACU, which ranks among the very best in Bangladesh. Two video presentations were screened for the participating freshers. The presentation gave them an overview of BRACU and its residential campus. Representatives of several administrative departments also gave individual presentations regarding the service they provide to the students. Moreover, BRACU almuni also reflected on experiences they gathered in BRACU.
Prof Andaleeb said BRACU aims to produce graduates who are not only knowledgeable but also capable of bringing positive changes in society. He said BRACU is the only Bangladeshi university which has launched a nano-satellite named “BRAC ONNESHA”. All department heads, faculty members and administrative staff welcomed the students along with their parents who attended the orientation. Dr Ansar Ahmed, Director of Institutional Effectiveness, presented the closing remarks.
