Under the auspices of Chittagong Employment & Manpower Office , a Migrants fair-2015 was held under Brac Migration Program at CEM office premises yesterday.
Deputy commissioner of Chitagong Mezbahuddin graced the occasion as chief guest.Social Protecton Economist Anika Rahman, Principal of Korean Technical Training Centre Engr.
Nazrul Islam, Programme Manager of BRAC Migration Programme Merina Sultana attended the fair as special guests. District BRAC representative Md. Nazrul Islam Majumder delivered the welcome address on the occasion.
Asstt. Director of District Employment & Manpower office Md. Jahirul Alam presided over the inaugural ceremony of the fair.In the fair Brac Migration Program, District Employment & Manpower office, Banks and Technical colleges set up their stalls in the fair.
The aim of the fair is to ensure the migration of the intending persons safely through coordinating with the service oriented govt and Non-govt organization to avoid the human traffickers.
The chief guest in his brief deliverations said the employment aspirants are proceeding to abroad through illegal ways without knowing the present situation and losing their lives on way to their destinations.
He also hailed the BRAC authority for undertaking such a awareness programs for the migrants , sources said.
