Bangladesh Railway (BR) is going to resume the online ticket selling from today (Saturday), officials said.
The online tickets, however, will be only available on eticket.railway.gov.bd website portal but it will not be available in the mobile app – Rail Sheba.
The tickets for all intercity trains will be issued by computers at the counters from 6:00pm on Friday.
On Friday, tickets for Saturday will be issued, officials added.
Earlier, the railway started to sell tickets of all intercity trains manually for five days from March 20 to March 25, prior to handing over the Integrated Ticketing System to a new joint venture company.
No online tickets were available in the five days while all tickets were sold manually at ticket counters at all railway stations across the country.
Advance tickets were available only one day before the journey and no quota was effective in the five days.
From March 26, the joint venture of Shohoz Limited, Synesis IT Limited and Vincen Consultancy Pvt Limited is scheduled to start selling 50 per cent of tickets at counters and 50 per cent online, according to Bangladesh Railway.
