The Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector of the country is moving towards right direction to materialize Vision-2021 and to build Digital Bangladesh, experts observed.
“We see much faster progress this year than in the previous year (BPO Summit-2015). So this moves on the right track,” said Sohel Islam, Head of Engineer of Augmedix, to The New Nation on the sidelines of the two-day Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Summit-2016 on Friday.
He said the country will be able to fulfill its vision 2021 and build her digital as the people of the country have the spirit of doing something.
ICT Division with assistance of the Department of ICT and Bangladesh Association of Call Center and Outsourcing (BACCO) organised the summit for the second time from July 28.
BPO aimed at raising and addressing a variety of issues that Bangladesh is facing to emerge as a global outsourcing hub aligned with the Digital Bangladesh Vision 2021.
Prime Minister’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Affairs Adviser Sajeeb Wazed yesterday inaugurated the summit in the city’s Sonargaon Hotel.
BACCO President Ahmadul Hoq said the summit is creating awareness among the participants especially youths about BPO sector, which will help develop the sector, as well as the IT sector.
“We are saying to the participants on what is our problem, what we need to do,” he added.
Speakers including more than 25 foreign participants are sharing their knowledge and expertise in the seminars to create awareness among the BPO participants.
M Raizul Islam Khan, Managing Director of Dhaka Centre NIC IT, told The New Nation that he has gathered knowledge participating in the summit and the knowledge accrued will be used to expand his software firm and outsourcing business.
The carnival has brought the ICT companies, experts, key policy makers, industry leaders, professionals and other ICT stakeholders of the society under one roof for heading towards BPO industry in Bangladesh.
It paved the way for industry experts and clients to exchange their ideas and thoughts for an enhanced vision and making new steps towards innumerable possibilities.
