The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket will begin on January 20 at the different venues across the country. The BPL Cricket will held at the venues in Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet. A total of six teams will take part in the T20 Cricket Tournament. After the franchises of the participating teams submit the participation money, the names of the participating teams will be finalized. Member Secretary of BPL Governing Council Ismail Haider disclosed these matters on Wednesday. The probable date of the final is February 20. The players’ draft of franchise-based BPL Cricket will be held on December 27. The categories of the participating players will be divided from Category-A to Category-E. The local players, who will be included in the Category-A, will get Tk seventy thousand each, while the foreign cricketers, who will be included in the Category-A will be given $ 70 thousand. The champions of the eighth edition of the BPL Cricket will be awarded Tk one crore, while the runners-up of the gala cricket meet will get Tk 50 lakh as prize-money.
Ismail Haider Mallick said, ” A number of six teams have been finalized, so far. We told the owners of the teams to submit the participation money within few days. The owners of the participating teams of the forthcoming BPL Cricket will submit the money soon. Those who will submit the participation money, we shall confirm the names of the participating teams. If any owner fail to submit the money, we shall select the teams, who show their eagerness to compete in the cricket meet.”
