In observance of the 44th martyrdom anniversary the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day, blood grouping programme followed by discussion meeting was observed at Navy Convention Hall arranged by Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) on Friday.
Secretary of the Govt of Bangladesh and former BPC Chairman Md. Shamsur Rahman graced the occasion as Chief Guest and it was presided over by Director Md. Sarwar Alam .
Dean of Social Science Faculty of Chattogram University Prof Dr Fariduddin Ahmed was the principal discussant on the occasion.
Public Prosecutor of Women & Children Repression Tribunal , Chattogram Khondakar Ariful Alam attended it as special discussant. Among others, officials and workers of the BPC and its subsidiary organisations attended the programmes of National Mourning Day. The chief guest in his brief deliberations said immergence of Bangladesh won’t be sighted unless the birth of the great architect Bangabandhu . On black night of August 15 , 1975 Bangabandhu and his family members were brutally killed by some unruly army officers, he added.
He further urged the officials and workers irrespective of status to work with dedication aimed at fulfilling the dreams of the Father of the Nation. The chief discussant Dr Farid said Bangabandhu , a name and a history .
In the history of Bangladesh , the name of Bangabandhu will remain in the heart of all people of the country irrespective of caste and creed. The speakers in the discussions Secretary of BPC Kazi M Hasan , Senior General Manager Abu Hanif, Managing Director of Meghna Petroleum Mir Saifufllah al Khaled, Managing Director of Padma Oil Md Masudur Rahman among others spoke on the occasion .
