BPC implementing energy security projects costing Tk 42 cr

Bangladesh Petroliam Corporation (BPC) , the lone importer, refining and marketing of essential energy commodities of the country is undergoing the different projects of Tk.42 crores for ensuring energy security and supply of fuels in govt fixed prices through three govt owned companies viz. Padma, Meghna and Jamuna .
These projects includes Single Point Mooring for delivering crude oil to ERL, Dhaka Chattogram Pipe Line Project, Kurmitola Kanchan Bridge, Rupgonj Jetty A-1 Pipeline Project, ERL Second Unit Project and Bangladesh -India Friendship Pipeline Project.
 The projects are expected to be completed by next one year, sources said. BPC sources said, the initiative for auto-mational system in Chattogram’s main depots to all other depots in the country have been taken to lessen the system loss .
 It is also learnt the outstanding arrears from Padma, Meghna, Jamuna and SAOCL also released in February last.
The realisation of dues from Bangladesh Biman is also progressing with maximum efforts.
The present 4500 officials and workers are relentlessly working to fulfill the fuel demands of the country.
BPC established a Training centre at Joypahar estate in rthe city on September 26, last. Mentionable that BPC has no own office building in capital or port city since its inception of 40 years ago.
 At present BPC is mulling to construct own office building at Joypahar Estate abandoned lands. These initiatives so far taken by the present Chairman Md.Shamsur Rahman during his tenure.
