Police recovered the body of a schoolboy, who died in a boat capsize, from the Brahmaputra river in Halimabad area of Gaforgoan upazila on Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Moniruzzaman, 15, a class VIII student and a resident of Sakhchura village of the upazila.
Badrul Alam, officer-in-charge of Pagla police station, said three people, including Moniruzzaman, went missing after a boat carrying 25/30 people capsized in the river in the area on Saturday morning.
Locals spotted his floating body around 10am and informed police. Police recovered the body. Later the body was handed over to the deceased’s family.
