A minor boy was killed in a road accident after he was hit by a battery-run autorickshaw in Kamrangirchar Beribadh area of Dhaka on Friday.
The victim was identified as Rabbi, 7. Details of his identity could not be known immediately.
Locals said the boy was crossing the road around 11:30am when the autorickshaw rammed him.
He was struck in his head and died on the spot, they said.
Soon after the incident, angry locals blocked the road and started staging demonstrations.
Kamrangirchar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mustafizur Rahman said that they had already arrested the driver and seized the vehicle.
Police were trying to calm the situation, he added.
