UNB, Dhaka :A schoolboy was beaten to death allegedly by his neighbours at Pallabi in Mirpur of the city on Tuesday night. The deceased was identified as Mehedi Hasan, 15, an SSC candidate from Mirpur Bangla School and College and son of Mosharraf Dhali of Gaudia village in Munshiganj district.Witnesses said, Mehedi was called out from the house by a group of young men led by his neighbour Oli and beaten with sticks, leaving him severely injured around 8:00pm on Tuesday.Family members and locals rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where doctorsdeclared him dead around 9:30pm.The reason behind the killing could not be known immediately. Inspector Mozammel Haque, in-charge of DMCH police camp confirmed the incident.
