A minor boy was abducted by miscreants from Batirkandi village in Chhatak upazila of Sunamganj district on Friday.
The victim was identified as Emon,5, son of Jahur Ali, a resident of the same village. Family sources said a group of miscreants abducted Emon near his house on the Chhatak-Doara road of the village at about 4:30 pm.
Later, they demanded Tk2 lakh from the victim’s family over phone as ransom for his release.
Officer-in-Charge of Chhatak Police Station Harun-or-Rashid Chowdhury said they received a complaint lodged by the family of Emon.
