Sports Reporter :President of Bangladesh Cricket Board Nazmul Hassan Papon, MP, expressed his frustration for the suspension of Taskin Ahmed and Arafat Sunny by ICC and stated that the bowlers’ suspension as the greatest setback for the Tigers in the ongoing ICC World T20 2016 in India.Nazmul Hassan Papon said on Friday, ” If any bowler does not throw an illegal delivery, he can still be banned by ICC from international cricket. We were not aware of that earlier. But unfortunately this decision is applied in Bangladesh’s contest. I hope ICC must re-consider about it. Bangladesh’s cricket is a victim of those decisions. I think suspension of Taskin Ahmed and Arafat Sunny is a serious setback for Bangladesh Cricket team.”Papon said, ” Taskin is one of the key bowlers of our team. He is the one of the fastest bowler of our team. He can bowl 140 km/ ph and he is very effective on Indian pitches.Papon added that Taskin was bowling outstanding in the last few series. He bowled really well in the ICC World Twenty20 2016 and was bowling fantastic in the recently concluded Asia Cup.Papon also added that Taskin bowled well in the last few series at home but nobody raised about his bowling action.”Our two main bowlers have been suspended by ICC and that was our greatest setback, in my opinion, particularly when we qualified for the second round and found ourselves in the toughest group with India, Pakistan, Australia and New Zealand to contend with. Playing against such teams without our key bowlers is really tough.” BCB president explained to the journalists.
