A four-wicket haul by Lata Mandal and well supported by Jahanara Alam saw Bangladesh eve team led the two- match series 1-0 with a 43-run victory over visiting Pakistan eve team in the first ODI held on newly build Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar.
Chasing, Bangladesh’s paltry 152 runs, Pakistan found the chase very stiff and finally dismissed 109 in 44.1 overs.
 Middle order batsman Asmavia Iqbal was the only top scorer with 40 runs as Pakistan lost wickets in regular intervals in the face of tight bowling attacks by the Tigress bowlers.
Lata Mandal was the pick of Bangladeshi bowler taking four wickets for 35 runs while Jahanara Alam supported her with three wickets giving away 22 runs.
Earlier, Bangladesh dismissed their innings at 152 for all in 49.3 overs, after they were forced to bat first by Pakistan.
Middle order batsman Rumana Ahmed top scored with 44 runs off 75 balls hitting five boundaries while Nuzhat Tasnia added useful 26 runs, after Bangladesh failed to build any effective partnership in the face of tight bowling attacks by Pakistan bowlers.
Qanita Jalil was the most successful bowler for Pakistan taking three wickets for 26 runs while Nida Dar bagged two wickets conceding 19 runs.
The second and final ODI between the two sides will be held on Thursday (Mar 6) at the same venue.
