BSS, Dhaka :
A disciplined bowling attack by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) XI bowlers saw visiting Zimbabwe faced batting debacle in their first innings as they bundled out for 241 in 76.1 overs on the first day of three-day match held on Monday at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
In reply, BCB XI also faced bating jolt early after starting their first innings in the afternoon scoring 11 for 1 in 5 overs at stumps, losing the only wicket of opener Sadman Hossain (0).
Opener Shamsur Rahman and first down Rony Talukder were on the crease with 4 and 7 runs respectively as the stumps were drawn for the day.
Elton Chigumbura took one wicket giving away 4 runs.
Earlier, the BCB XI bowers threatened early inroad on Zimbabwe bating dismissing both their openers after the visitors opted to bat first.
However one down Sikendar Raza (44) and Hamilton Masakadza (24) offered some resistance contributing 63 runs for the third wicket stand to take the team from awkward position.
But, the BCB XI bowlers again struck on Zimbabwe innings sending back the two set batsmen and did not give the Zimbabwe batsmen any scope to build any effective partnership taking wickets in regular intervals.
Elton Chigumbura (39) Shingi Masakadza (22) and Richmond Mutumbami (21) were the other notable batsmen for Zimbabwe.
Mehedi Hasan and Naeem Islam were the pick of Bangladesh bowlers taking away two wickets each for 22 and 53 runs respectively.
