Bourses extend gaining streak

Country’s premier bourse, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), closed on Wednesday extending the gaining streak as investors kept running their buying appetite for central bank’s liquidity support measures.
The broad index, DSEX closed at 4480.83 points on the day with a gain of 9.31 points or 1.96 percent.
Besides, among the two selective indices, Blue Chip index, DSE30 declined slightly by 1.16 points while Shariah index, DSES went up by 0.56 points to settle at 1516.06 points and 1030.69 points respectively.
On the DSE trading floor, a total number of 158,053 trades were executed in The day’s trading session with a trading volume of 247.48 million securities.
Gainers took a strong lead over losers as out of 355 issues traded, 160 securities gained price while 146 declined and 49 remained unchanged.
The top 10 gainers were ICB Employee Provident Mutual Fund One Scheme One, Orion Pharma, Saiham Textile, ICB, Hakkani Pulp, ICB AMCL Third NRB Mutual Fund, ICB AMCL First Agrani Bank Mutual Fund, ICB AMCL Sonali Bank Mutual Fund, Orion Infusion and Prime Bank First ICB AMCL Mutual Fund.
