Bourses continue winning streak

Country’s both the stocks continued gaining streak amid choppy trading as enthusiast investors were active on both sides throughout the sessions.
At the premier bourse, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the broad index, DSEX settled at 4959.18 points on Monday with a gain of 10.61 points or 0.21 percent.
Besides two selective indices, Blue Chip index, DSE30 and Shariah index, DSES also went up marginally by 7.07 points and 1.64 points to settle at 1723.91 points and 1142.68 points respectively.
On the DSE trading floor, a total number of 193,970 trades were executed in Monday’s trading session with a trading volume of 367.70 million securities.
On the other hand, DSE’s turnover, a crucial indicator of the market, stood at Taka 9.76 billion from Taka 10.25 billion in the previous session.
Losers took lead over gainers as out of 357 issues traded, 130 securities gained price while 182 declined and 45 remained unchanged.
The market-cap of DSE increased to Taka 3,736 billion which was Taka 3,730 billion in the previous session.
The top 10 gainers were GPH Ishpat, Miracle Industries, Anwar Galvanizing, Apolo Ishpat, Legacy Footwear, BD Finance, Information Services Network, Zahin Tex, Hakkani Pulp and Fine Foods.
Beximco Pharma topped the turnover chart followed by Beximco Limited, Brac Bank, Orion Pharma, Delta Brac Housing, LafargeHolcim Bangladesh, Lankabangla Finance, BD Finance, Ring Shine and Square Pharma.
The top 10 losers were Meghna Petroleum, Imam Button, Aramit Cement, GQ Ball Pen, Beximco Synthetic, Shinepukur Ceramics, Savar Refractories, CAPM IBBL Mutual Fund, Grameen 1 Scheme 2 and Khan Brothers PP.
On the other hand, the port city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed trading at green extending the winning streak of the previous day.
CSCX and CASPI rose by 31.70 points and 52.02 points to stand at 8540.60 points and 14165.65 points respectively.
