Bangladesh Open University (BOU) has stepped into 23rd year on Tuesday. The only open and distance learning university in country is Bangladesh Open University which was establish in Board Bazar Gazipur on 21 October in 1992. A total of 24- formed programme and 19 non-formal is running in the university at present.
There are 570 academic schools in the university, which are known as faculty. Prof Dr MA Mannan is the Vice Chancellor of the university while Pro-Vice Chancellor is Prof Dr Khondaker Mokaddem Hossain and Treasure is Prof Dr Md Abu Taher .
There are 5,70,201 Students, 6 academic schools, 137 teachers (full time), 536 officers, 625 employees, 12 Regional centers, 80 sub regional centers, 1475 study centers, 23089 (adjunct) tutors including website, email and Fax in the University.
