National Cricket League: Both Tier-1 matches end in draw

Both the opening Tier-1 four-day matches of the 18th National Cricket League (NCL) ended in draw on the 4th and final day at separate venues across the country on Wednesday.
Defending champions Khulna Division played to a draw against Barisal Division at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna while Dhaka Metro settled for a draw against Dhaka Division at Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra.
After the first round matches, Khulna Division have secured 11 points while Barisal Division seven, and Dhaka Metro and Dhaka Division collected three points each from the matches.
Replying to hosts Khulna Division’s comfortable first innings total of 424 runs, Barisal Division, having 261 runs in the first innings, resumed the 2nd innings with overnight total of 122 for 3 on the 4th and last day (Wednesday) and finally scored 248 for 8 in 87 overs at stumps.
Veteran spinner Abdur Razzak, who came to bat in number nine, contributed the team highest 97 runs off 83 balls with eight fours and three sixes in addition to three wickets in the first innings and two wickets in the 2nd innings. Later, he was adjudged the man of the match.
