Key share price index at the country’s twin bourses-Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) — gained on Wednesday, the 4th trading day of the week.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX gained 22.51 points or nearly 0.43 percent to close at 5315.12 on the day. Of the 303 issues traded, 156 gained, 125 suffered loss and 22 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 975.25 crore changed hands at the DSE on Wednesday.
The day’s top 10 gainers at the DSE were United Insurance, 7th ICB Mutual Fund, EBL NRB Mutual Fund, IFIL Islamic Mutual Fund-1, Trust Bank 1st Mutual Fund, Grameen One: Scheme Two, Monno Ceramic, Far East Knitting & Dyeing, Rangpur Dairy & Food Products, and NLI First Mutual Fund.
The CSE key index, CSCX gained 23.88 points to reach 9959.72 at close on Wednesday. Of the 237 issues traded, 106 advanced, 117 suffered loss and 14 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues was Tk 60.53 crore on the day.
