Both DSE, CSE index end week with gain

Key share price index at the country’s twin bourses-Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) — gained on Thursday, the last trading day of the week.
The DSE benchmark index, DGEN gained 38.46 points or 0.87 percent to reach 4427.15 points at close today. Of the 299 issues traded on the day 199 gained, 74 declined and 26 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 339.53 crore changed hands at the DSE on Thursday.
The day’s top 10 gainers at the DSE were SPCL, Far Chemicals, Popular Life Insurance, Standard Ceramics, Summit Alliance Port, Pragati Insurance, ICB AMCL 2nd Mutual Fund, Grameen Phone, Beximco, and First Bangladesh Fixed Income Fund.
The CSE key index, CSCX gained 60.07 points to stand at 8381.14 points at close today. Of the 208 issues traded till then, 93 gained, 75 declined and 40 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 37.72 crore were traded at the CSE on Thursday.
The trading and official activities of DSE and CSE will remain closed from July 27 to July 31 on account of Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.
Trading and official activities of DSE and CSE will resume as per its previous time schedule from August 3 after the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.
