Boro paddy farmers and hoarded are seen happy over good market price from last couple of week elsewhere Dupchanchia Upazila of Bogra district.
Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) office source said, the farmers had got some 50 tjousand tonnes of fresh Boro paddy yield due to favourable weather condition and timely supply of necessary agriculture impute from some 34750 hectares of land in this season.
The paddy growers of the area have already sold half of the amount before September for their family need but remaining some thousand tonnes both in peasants and hoarded houses, said authority concern. The price of the raw material is rising unbridle both in wholesale and retail markets, they added.
In a recent visit the big paddy market Dhaphat under Dupchancha upazila of Bogra district the correspondent found each mound of minicate paddy is being sold from Tk 1330 to 1360 and course is from Tk 1050 to 1100 in the retail market. The wholesale market is somehow low than retail market. The farmers are getting joyful after selling the paddy item to the wholesalers.
“Due to rising rice price, the paddy price is being increased in the market, said secretary of Chaul Kall Malik Samittee Alhaj Abdur Razzak. He again said, “The price will decrease within very short time as the government has started importing the rice from different country to release the common people.”
“Low and middle income people are the worst suffer for rampant increasing the price of paddy across the country,” said Enamul Haque, a rice business man. He again said, “If the government take effective step to douse the rice price in strong handed, the common people of the area will get rid from the problem.”
“I had got 55 mound of minicate paddy from some two bighas of land spending Tk 20 thousand and have sold fifty mound of municate paddy for Tk 60 thousand on Thursday,” said farmer Mohosin Ali, 33, under Dupchanchia upazila. He again said, “Rest of the paddy may be sold from Tk 2200 if the price remains fair till November.”
President of District Chatal Malik Samitti said, the farmers have shown more interest to bring some new crop land under T-Aman paddy cultivation getting good market price in this current season. He is expecting that the farmers will make huge money from T-Aman paddy.
