It will be a acid test for the Bangladesh national football team who leave for Bhutan today (Friday) to take part in the Asian Cup playoff-2 away match against host Bhutan scheduled to be held on Monday (October 10).
Earlier, on Wednesday, Bangladesh football Federation picked up 26 booters with three stand-by players for the away match.
Tom Saintfiet, the head coach of the Bangladesh team, expressed his high hope to qualify for the next round by winning the match against Bhutan.
He said: “It’s a must win match for us though a draw is enough for us to qualify in the next round. It’s going to be a tough match for us as Bhutan will look forward to take the home ground advantage.”
Earlier, the first leg match between Bangladesh and Bhutan held on September 7 in Dhaka ended in a goalless draw. If Bangladesh manage to hold Bhutan, they will qualify as per away goal rules.
