There has been a boom in the sales of refrigerators across the country ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, one of the biggest festivals of Muslims, to be celebrated in last-september.
It is a common phenomenon that consumers buy refrigerators ahead of Eid-ul-Azha to preserve meat of sacrificial animals. So refrigerator sellers have already completed their preparations to capture the peak season of refrigerator sales, said industry insiders.
During a visit to Bangabandhu Stadium Market it was noticed that all outlets are displaying refrigerators of different local and foreign brands offering competitive price, discounts and improved services.
The outlets have already begun to witness a good number of customers even before the Eid.
Local brands including Walton, Marcel and MyOne have taken massive preparations to grab the season of refrigerator sales and brought different models of refrigerators that are unique in design and colour.
Head of marketing of Walton Emdadul Haque Sarkar told the NN, “Considering the demands of local customers, we are now offering high quality and world standard refrigerators with unique designs and colours and expect that our sales would increase significantly this year.”
He also said their brand has secured the top position in the country’s refrigerator market due to its uniqueness in quality and service to customers.
Shamim Al Mamun, a senior officer of Marcel, said: “We have secured the second position. Our outlets are now offering refrigerators with unique and attractive designs and colours”.
Abul Hossain, owner of Anabil Electronics at Gulistan Market, said: “We have already prepared our outlet with refrigerators of the latest models”.
Mijanur Rahman, manager of Hitachi brand showroom at Mugda Biswa Road, said: “We have taken preparation ahead of Eid-ul-Azha. But it is true that customers are choosing local brands due to the lower price.”
Manager of the LG showroom at Stadium Market said they have opened sufficient service centres in the city to attract customers.
Syed Jamal Abedin, manager of Singer showroom at the same market, said: “We expect a good number of customers as Singer is an international brand and we are offering products at competitive prices”.
Industry insiders said Konka, Vicon, Sharp and Hayes have also taken preparations for sale ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
