The cover of a book titled “Krishi and Krishoker Bangabandhu” written on thoughts of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on agriculture and farmers was unveiled at a function at NEC Conference Room at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar here on Monday. Planning Minister MA Mannan attended the ceremony as the chief guest while Prime Minister’s Political Affairs Adviser HT Imam and Professor of Dhaka University History Department Dr Syed Anwar Hossain joined it as special guests.
Planning Commission’s General Economics Division Member (Senior Secretary) Dr Shamsul Alam authored the 80-page book.
Bangladesh Agricultural University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Lutful Hassan, economist Ahsan H Mansur and PricewaterhouseCoopers Managing Partner Mamun Rashid were present on the occasion as discussants. The speakers said the 80-page book projected many unearthed thoughts of Bangabandhu on agriculture and farmers.
Planning Secretary Md Nurul Amin and other senior officials and employees of the ministry were present at the programme.
